First and foremost, please rest assured that this app does not delete your events on its own.
In most cases, this issue occurs when calendar synchronization is disconnected or certain settings cause events to be hidden.
Please follow the steps below to check your settings in order.
Checklist
- Check the “All Events” option in Sync Settings
- Ensure Simple Calendar has the necessary permissions enabled
- Verify that iCloud Calendar is enabled
- Check for issues in your Calendar account settings
- Confirm that data fetching is set to automatic
- Force an update using the default iOS Calendar app
- Ensure Simple Calendar’s display settings are enabled
- Restart your device
- Update Simple Calendar
- If the issue persists after checking all of the above
1. Check the “All Events” option in Sync Settings
In iOS settings, the calendar data retrieval period may be limited to only the past month.
To resolve this, set the sync option to “All Events”.
Please follow the steps below to check the Calendar sync settings in the Settings app:
- Open the Settings app
- (For iOS 18 and later) Tap “Apps”
- Tap “Calendar” (Note: Be sure to select “Calendar”, not “S Calendar”)
- Tap the “Sync” section on the left side (The default setting is usually “Events 1 Month Back”)
- If a specific period like “Events 1 Month Back” is selected, change it to “All Events.”
If “All Events” is already selected, try choosing another option like “Events 6 Months Back” instead. - Return to the Home screen, wait a few minutes, then check the S Calendar app
- If events are successfully displayed, return the setting back to “All Events” for those who selected “Events 6 Months Back.”
Note: If the “Sync” or “All Events” options do not appear in the Settings app
This often happens when you are checking the “S Calendar” section instead. These options will not appear there. Please make sure you are looking under the “Calendar” settings.
If the options still do not appear, try the following:
1. Delete this app
2. Restart your device
3. Reinstall the app and follow the steps above again.
Rest assured, your iCloud Calendar data will not be deleted even if you remove the app.
2. Ensure Calendar Access Permissions Are Enabled for Simple Calendar
- Open the Settings app
- (For iOS 18 and later) Tap “Apps”
- Tap “S Calendar”
- Set the permissions to “Full Access” or confirm that it is already enabled.
3. Verify that iCloud Calendar is Enabled
- Open the Settings app
- Tap your name at the top of the screen (If you see “Sign in to your iPhone,” sign in with your Apple ID.)
- Tap “iCloud”
- Tap “See All” under Saved to iCloud
- Ensure that “Calendar” is turned ON (Note: Be sure to check “Calendar”, not “S Calendar”).
4. Check for Issues with Calendar Account Settings
If external calendars such as iCloud, Google Calendar, or Outlook are not appearing in Simple Calendar, please verify the settings in the Settings app
- Open the Settings app
- (For iOS 18 and later) Tap “Apps”
- Tap “Calendar” (Note: Be sure to select “Calendar”, not “S Calendar”)
- Tap “Calendar Accounts”
- Tap “Add Account” and follow the instructions to add the external calendar account.
If the account already exists
If the account already exists, please ensure that “Calendars” is turned ON in the settings for each account.
5. Ensure Data Fetching is Set to Automatic
- Open the Settings app
- (For iOS 18 and later) Tap “Apps”
- Tap “Calendar” (Note: Be sure to select “Calendar”, not “S Calendar”)
- Tap “Calendar Accounts”
- Tap “Fetch New Data”
- Ensure the “Fetch” option at the bottom of the screen is set to “Automatically”
If Event Syncing is Slow
If event syncing is slow, please enable “Push”.
While this may consume more battery compared to Fetch, it will sync your events more quickly.
6. Force an Update Using the Default iOS Calendar App
Even if the sync settings are correct, events may occasionally fail to sync. This issue can often be resolved by forcing a manual update in the default iOS Calendar app.
- Open the “Calendar” app (Note: Be sure to open “Calendar”, not “S Calendar”).
- Tap “Calendars” at the bottom of the screen.
- Pull down on the screen to refresh.
7. Ensure Simple Calendar’s Display Settings Are Enabled
Please confirm that the display settings in Simple Calendar are enabled.
- Open the S Calendar app.
- Tap the “Settings” (gear icon) at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Tap “Display Settings”
- Make sure there is a checkmark next to the calendars you want to display.
8. Restart Your Device
9. Update Simple Calendar
Please check the App Store to ensure that the latest version of Simple Calendar is installed.
10. If the Issue Persists After Checking All of the Above
Simple Calendar retrieves the same events as the default iOS Calendar.
To help identify the cause, please check if your events are displayed in the default iOS Calendar app.
If Events Are Missing from the Default iOS Calendar App as Well
In this case, the issue may not be with Simple Calendar but with the calendar service where your events are stored. By default, Simple Calendar saves events to iCloud unless you are syncing with another service, such as Google Calendar.
Please refer to the support sites of the respective calendar services:
- iCloud (Apple): If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders aren’t syncing
- Google Calendar/Gmail (Google): Google Calendar Help
- Outlook/Exchange (Microsoft): Microsoft Support
Note: Some reports indicate an increase in iCloud Calendar data loss since iOS 18.
If following the steps in the article “If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders aren’t syncing” does not resolve the issue and events still do not appear in the official Calendar app, please contact Apple Support using the “Contact Apple Support” option at the bottom of the article.
If events are not displayed even in the official Calendar app, it is likely an issue with iCloud Calendar data management. We recommend consulting the Apple Support team for further assistance.
