First of all, please rest assured that this app does not delete events on its own.
Please check your settings in the order below.
✅ Things to Try First
1. Check the “All Events” option in Sync Settings
In iOS settings, the calendar data retrieval period may be limited to only the past month.
To resolve this, you need to set the sync option to “All Events”.
Please follow the steps below to check the Calendar sync settings in the Settings app:
- Open the Settings app
- (For iOS 18 and later) Tap “Apps”
- Tap “Calendar”
(Apple’s default calendar app, not this one)
- Tap the “Sync” section on the left side (The default setting is usually “Events 1 Month Back”)
-
If a specific period like “Events 1 Month Back” is selected, change it to “All Events.”
If “All Events” is already selected, try choosing another option like “Events 6 Months Back” instead. - Return to the Home screen, wait a few minutes, then check the Simple Calendar app
- If events are successfully displayed, return the setting back to “All Events” for those who selected “Events 6 Months Back.”
※ If "Sync" or "All Events" options are not displayed in the Settings app
- You may be looking at the wrong "Calendar" section. Please make sure you are checking the settings for the "Calendar"
app.
- If the options still do not appear, try deleting this app, restarting your device, and reinstalling it, then try the above steps again. Rest assured that your iCloud Calendar data will not be deleted even if you remove the app.
2. Use "Restore Events"
Simple Calendar has a feature that can restore events that were previously synced. Events that became hidden due to settings changes or sync errors may be recovered using this feature.
Steps:
- Open Simple Calendar
- Tap "Settings" (gear icon) at the top-right corner
- Tap "Restore Events"
- If events are displayed in the [Cache] tab, tap "Restore All"
🚨 If the Issue Persists
① Check Simple Calendar's Display Settings
Please confirm that the display settings in Simple Calendar are enabled.
- Open the Simple Calendar app.
- Tap "Settings" (gear icon) at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Tap "Display Settings"
- Ensure that a checkmark appears to the right of the calendars you want to display.
② Force an Update Using the Default iOS Calendar App
Even if the sync settings are correct, events may occasionally fail to sync. This issue can often be resolved by forcing a manual update in the default iOS Calendar app.
- Open the "Calendar" app (Apple's default calendar app, not this one)
- Tap "Calendars" at the bottom of the screen.
- Pull down on the screen to refresh.
- (Important) Wait for about an hour before checking. Note: Syncing may take some time. The longer you have been using the service, the more time it may take.
③ Restart Your Device
Turn off your device and restart it. Wait for about an hour, then check if your events are displayed.
If the Issue Persists After Checking All of the Above
Simple Calendar retrieves the same events as the default iOS Calendar.
To help identify the cause, please check if your events are displayed in the default iOS Calendar app.
If Events Are Also Missing from the Default iOS Calendar App
In this case, the issue may not be with Simple Calendar but with the calendar service where your events are stored. By default, Simple Calendar saves events to iCloud unless you are syncing with another service, such as Google Calendar.
Please refer to the support sites of the respective calendar services:
- iCloud (Apple): If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders aren’t syncing
- Google Calendar/Gmail (Google): Google Calendar Help
- Outlook/Exchange (Microsoft): Microsoft Support
Note: Reports indicate an increase in iCloud Calendar data loss since iOS 18.
If following the steps in the article “If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders aren’t syncing” does not resolve the issue and events still do not appear in the official Calendar app, please contact Apple Support using the “Contact Apple Support”.
If events are not displayed even in the official Calendar app, it is likely an issue with iCloud Calendar data management. We recommend consulting the Apple Support team for further assistance.
